Jack Faxon was an avid collector who filled his Birmingham house with art and objects ranging from African masks and figures to choice pieces of American arts-and-crafts. He lended objects from his private collection to the "Detroit collects African Art" ehibition in the Detroit Institute of Arts, April 21 - May 29, 1977. Later in his life he donated objects to the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Smithsonian Institution Washinton, DC. |
